Medical Students from HYMS ( Hull & York Medical School)

Dr fiona Forsythe and Dr Martin Ashley have been appointed as tutors at HYMS, and are responsible for the training of fourth year medical students (Dr Moroney and Jones are responsible for training those in years 1&2). In their Monday morning surgeries they will often be accompanied by medical students.


New Health Centre

Those who read the newsetter will be aware that we have plans to move onto the site of the old gas works in Heworth, in September 2007. The building work is progressing well and we are hoping that the creation of a new 'Super' PCT in October 2006 will not creat any problems for this project


Dr Sarah Utting

Many of you will have already met Dr Utting when she was acting as a locum when Dr Bolter was on maternity leave. We are pleased to say that we have found enough work to be able to retain her services, at least in the short term, until we get our premises move sorted out


Foundation Year 2 Junior Doctors (FY2)

The way junior doctors become registered with the GMC has changed slightly; as from August 2006 they will have to complete two 'foundation' years, rather than the single 'houseman's year' Part of their second foundation year will be spend in General Practice, to enable all doctors to work on their communication skills, as well as getting a 'taster' of the work in primary care. Minster Health has been chosen as one of the practices to have 'FY2' doctors attached


Electronic Repeat Prescriptions
