A picture of Di Ruston

I trained as a general nurse at Cambridge, Addemsbrooks Hospital.

After working as a Staff Nurse for a year I then trained in Midwifery at Norwich.

I moved to York in 1979 to practice Midwifery for 6 months but ended up staying and working as a Midwifery sister until 1989.

In 1990 I became a Pracice Nurse and in 1998 worked as a part time Practice Nurse and Practice Manager at differing surgeries.

In 2003 I was offered a full time post at Minster Health working as a Practice / Clinical Manager.

In 2004 I successfully completed my Extended Nurse Prescribing course .

In 2005 I starting studing for my Masters degree at Huddersfield University; by early 2007 I will be working as an independant nurse practitioner

I feel very privileged that I am able to work both as a Manager and a Nurse.
